ANOTHER INDIAN LOVE STORY (a short story for my English holiday homework)

A man of 92 years, well maintained who takes good care of his appearance, is moving into an old man's home today. His 70 years old wife has recently died and he is obliged to leave his home. After waiting hours in the retirement lobby, he gently smiles as he is told that his room is ready. As he walks to elevator, memories of his wife conquers him.Just as he wishes that if he was with his wife then, he FAINTS!!

The next moment when he opened his eyes he realised that he was in a TAXI, but there was no one else with him. He asked the driver,
    "Where am I ?"
"You are dead!!" the taxi driver answered.
"What? dead?? Oh.....Thank GOD!!" the old man said.
"What? You are happy?? Usually people start crying when I reveal the bad news!!" the driver said.
"Bad news?? this is GOOD news!! I can finally be with my wife, she died last month"
"So that's why your so happy?
Where do you think you will go?
Heaven? or Hell?" the driver asks,
    "I'll go wherever she went."
    "Good! Together even after death!!"
"Thanks," the old man replies,"But tell me where did you go? Heaven? or Hell?"
    "I did't go anywhere!!"
    "What??"
"I didn't do anything bad, so I didn't go to hell, I didn't do anything good, so I didn't go to heaven!!
As I got kicked out of both the places, I rented a car from St.Peter and continued my profession as      a Taxi driver."
"Brilliant!!" exclaimed the old man amused by the drivers little story.
"Thanks," the driver replied,"And now our journey comes to an end! This is a T junction.
to your left is 21 b DEVIL Street, and to your right is 22C GOD Street."
    "Thanks."the old man replied.
    "Good Luck!!"
    "Thanks again."

The old man started walking again. He read the sign which said-
                                                 "22 C GOD STREET"
Pleased at what he saw, he started heading that way. But then he saw a man lying in the middle of the street. the old went closer to him and said, "Hi bob"
"Marks??,"the man lying on the road got up and asked,"Is that really you??"
"Yes!!" the old man said,"but what are you doing here?? Didn't you go to heaven??"
"Yes, I did go to heaven," Bob replied,"But God assigned me as a guide to fellow passengers!!
So where do you want to go?? Heaven? or Hell?"
"Well..........I want to go wherever Lara went."
     "Who's Lara??"
"She's my wife, she died last month.
Have you met her? Where did she go??"
"I don't remember any Lara," replied Bob,"But if you have a photo, I might recognise her!"
"A photo?? Yes! Yes! I do!"
     "Where is it?" asked Bob
     "In my suitcase?"
     "Where is your suitcase?"
" My suitcase? I think it is back on earth." the old man replied.
"How coul you be so careless??"
"I'm sorry  this is first time dying! I have ni experience!!" The old man said.
"You do one thing! Go straight back to LIFE, grab your suitcase and come back!!"
"You'r brilliant!!," exclaimed the old man,"I'll be right back."

Saying this the old man started running back as fast as he could.
He ran even at the of 92 cor his true love, for his wife.

Atlast when he eached he opened his eyes and saw that he was in the ICU.
He turned head right and left until he located his suitcase in the corner.
He jumped from his bed, he saw some wires attached to his body.
He ripped them off and ran to suitcase. He grabbed it in his hands.
But then he realized that he was a bit too ALIVE to DIE again.
He turned back and saw the doctor. The doctor was so amazed at the old man's actions that his eyes almost fell out.

The old man sat down, with his suitcase and started crying.
This story may not seem possible to you. But there is something that we can learn from it.
                   TRUE LOVE is longlasting,
But who knows, it may last even after DEATH.....

IF I WERE INVISIBLE (a short article)

Invisibility is a great super power; It is at the same time very impressive and very impossible! If I was to become invisible then I would first of all try to understand how it works, because I know that I am dealing with something that I know nothing about. If I manage to find out anything about how I became invisible, then I could certainly help the "science department" in developping a new technology!!

Another person whom I could really help appart from the guys of the science department is a MAGICIAN!! I could help him in making things float or I could become a magacian myself. One more thing which I could really do to help the people is by helping the Police, CBI, FBI and all those departments (which are too many to name). I would have to listen to the thiefs conversations and plans in their private meetings and report it secretly. Something else which I can do after becomming invisible is help my sister. I could make her fly as if she is superman!!

Since I cannot find or think of any other thing or person in the world who would ever needmy invisible help. I come to my first conclusion that I might as well as have some fun!!
I could play trics on my brother, freak out my friends, get into an amusement park without paying or I could even board a plane and travel in it without a passport or a ticket!! I could do many wonderfull things and the best thing is that no one can find me.

However we should not forget one thing, great powers means great responsibilities, and only we know how irresponsible we can be in life.
Thus, I come to my second conclusion that I might as welk as be in my regular body than in an invisible one,
Because being invusible is really great,
But being me is greater!!

HOMEWORK IS AN OBSTACLE IN THE PROGRESS OF THE STUDENTS (a short speech for debate)

Respected moderator, judges, teachers and my dear friends
I am here to propose the motion “Homework is an obstacle in the progress of the students ”
When I say this I can see a glittering in the eyes of my friends who are going to oppose me- to be very specific , Kiran and --- your face says that you hate Home work and would like to ralley behind me in supporting this motion.
Let me go to a small sideline storey of the Epic Ramayana. Once Lord Ram was walking in the jungle with his heavy weight Gandheevam in hand.  He felt thirsty. He kept the bow slanting on a tree and got down to the nearby pond to get some water. He came back and took back gandheevam. He heard a sigh from the bottom of the tree and he found a frog. Ram felt sorry that he kept the heavy weight on the poor creature, he asked why did not you cried out when I kept down. The frog replied” lord you are the God who saves all and if you yourself is putting the heavy weight on my shoulder – how can I cry. “
Let me look into the eyes of the teachers and the curriculum experts and repeat the words of that small frog..our childhood is given into your hands, not to burden it with home works but to guide it to the world of imaginations and inventions.  Home works given are often a continuation of the class work either a repetition of the problems already solved in the class or a copy pasting of the notes or texts. The little minds of the students are tied up to the same thoughts and same ways- denying them the chance to explore their capabilities. When my papa and mummy say about their childhood- I feel ashamed of myself. I am unable to go out to fields to see the nature and to play till the sun sets in the west. Because, the moment I enter in my home, back from the school, the two heavy letters H and W are blinking like red signal in front of me.
You may think that if we do not do home work we will not excel in our studies and we will never achieve what we should become. But dear all I have to tell you that the greatest of the scientists neither Thomas Alva Edison nor Albert Einstein did home works… none of the modern era scientists who are products of home works are honored like them.

Thus I would like to conclude that Homework is really an obstacle in the progress of the students.
Thankyou.

IS INTERNET THE NEED OF THE HOUR (a short speech on the the topic for school debate)

Respected moderator, judges , teachers and my dear friends
I am here to oppose the motion “Internet is the need of the hour”
Suppose there is a screw immersed in the wall, and the principal is asking us to unscrew it--what is the need of the hour ?   I see a group of my friends crying loudly, a screw driver is the need of the hour. But I say it is not the screw driver but the action to unscrew is the need of the hour. You can use a screw driver or a pair of pliers or a hammer or even a 100 fills coin to unscrew it. The tool you select will depend on the availability and the compatibility – It is just the way but not the destination.
When I start speaking against the motion “Internet is the need of the hour” an obituary note that came on TV few days back is coming into my mind. One of the most wanted authors of this century, the Nobel Prize winner Mr. Gunter Grass left this life leaving behind his literature works for the generations to come. I remember watching an interview with him. He declared-“ I have no mobile, I have no face book account, nor I use internet- because I am connected to this world without all these. “
As we hear a lot of speeches claiming that the internet is the need of the hour, I exclaim – my god what is going to happen if the internet is cut for a day..? will it be as serious as a NO OXYGEN SITUATION..? I can see a smile at many faces in front of me, which can be read as below: hay man when we say need of the hour that does not mean it is the life supportive, but is needed to live in this modern world.
Dear All, I agree Internet is a toll of modern life, which will help us to solve many situations, which will help us with a flow of information, which will support us to get rid of many ques and of many formalities;  Online orders, online payment and with even online marriages.  But a small error that makes this generation upside down is hidden in this motion.
This error is not generated by internet, but by the human nature. It is human to get accustomed to the situations; the new generation has got accustomed to this tool in such a way that they surrendered themselves to it and call it as the need of the hour. To act as a slave to anything is human. We call it addiction.  Swami Vivekananda in the light of Bhagavat Geetha explained such situations in detail and called for a Nish Kama karma- or a detached life. You can use all facilities and create anything you want, but keep detached with it. Use this world and your creativity and thoughts as the tools to establish you and to express yourself- not become a slave of your tools and products. Then only you can be called a real human.
Dear all, Internet is the tool of the hour, the best usable tool of the hour- which will help us to meet many needs of the hour. By considering the tool itself as the need of the hour, you are derailing from the journey to destination. All of us experience the same in our dealings- students forget to study, doctors forget to report to clinic and children forget they are the loved children of their parents.  Give the tools the space of the tool only, not the space of the ultimate destination.
Hence I object to this motion. Internet is not the need of the hour, but it is the tool of the hour.

Thanks you.

YEARS ARE TOO SHORT (For my school magazine)

Years are too short

September 2005, I first climbed up the stairs of IIS with my mother holding my hand, to attend my first day of the school. I got into my class, laid my bag down, sat down, and waved my mother goodbye. I smiled at my new friends who were staring at me as if they have never seen a human before, just then the class teacher came, and told me her name – believe it or not it was Sharon ma’am, and she is my present Biology teacher –  just as I thought nothing could go wrong, the bell rang, it rang as loudly as it could, this made me go nuts. I ran to the door so that I could escape, but Sharon ma’am kept the door close until I returned to my seat. And this, my friends was my introduction to this institution where I have been a part since then.
There have been many incidents some good ones, some bad ones, some great ones and some really embarrassing ones. But all of these incidents and accidents that I had to go through or face in the past years, in this school, gave me a new moral to learn and an experience to remember. The cover page of our School diary states - “Each day used is a new opportunity……….” And I will never forget the opportunity I got to learn the word meaning of “article”. On a fine day in 3’rd STD, a teacher came rushing to my class and asked-“Who is Cherryn?” I stood up. She asked me “Did you write an article for school magazine?” Till then, I only knew the article in the English grammar (a, an and the).Seeing me confused, the teacher took me to a room (Now examination room), and showed me a paper, I suddenly recognized it as my 2’nd STD English holiday homework. And that’s when I learned that an article also means a written composition.
“Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistake” well I have made many mistakes, but there are some that I can never forget. In 4’Th STD, we friends, had a competition between ourselves. Who would use the minimum number of pages to complete one whole exam, was the competition theme. I got interested in this and strived hard to win the competition. I actually managed to complete my SA1 Maths exam in just within 2 pages, which might have required minimum 6 pages, avoiding margins and mixing working columns and writing between lines. And I was proud of winning the competition until Reena ma’am (maths teacher) shouted at me for 10 whole minutes for making the paper a mess. Even though I felt sad then, now I feel a smile on my lips when I think about that.
Believing in the verses “The journey of thousand miles starts with a single step” I pray that the step that I took years back, may lead me through the long journey that has to come.

THE WAY I LIKE IT (Short story for school prioject)

                THE WAY I LIKE IT

(I wrote this for my English Project. The two lines were given. The rest is purely out of my  crazy imagination.)

Nitin awoke one night from a deep slumber after hearing some sound. When he looked around, there was pitch darkness, but there was a dim ray of light from above. He was amazed to see what he saw.........................................He saw a Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge ! (the phone that every kid in school has dreamt of having) floating in thin air !! He noticed that the phone was ringing. Suddenly something glorious happened. The S6 Edge slowly decended onto Nitin's unworthy hands. He read :

"God ?" Nitin asked himself.
Out  of curiosity Nitin swiped his fingers over the screen to attend the call.
"Hello! who am I speaking to ?" Nitin asked.
"Hello Nitin,"the voice replied,"I am your GOD!!"
"God ??"Nitin asked.
"Exactly God the creator!"
"But you couldn't be God!"
"Why not??"asked the voice.
"Because..............."Nitin replied,".......God dosen't call through VIBER!!"
"Well.......,"said the voice,"this VIBER is free and easy.Regular SIM calling is double the amount
  from heaven that from......................,"
"Prove it!"Nitin asked.
"Prove what?"
"Prove that you are GOD."
"How do I do that?"the voice asked.
"Well................make something float."Nitin replied.
"But I made that damn costly Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge float right above your head!!"
"It was a trick! Make something else float."
"Are you asking me to break the same laws of physics which I created??"the voice asked.
"Newton created the laws of ........................"
"Newton!!.........."the voice interrupted,"didn't create anything,he just discovered my laws and took all   the credit and that's not at all FAIR!!"
"No one is fair!"replied Nitin.
"What?"
"I had a fight with my father,he was angry at me for scoring less marks in Hindi.I got angry and  slammed my door.I didn't even eat before I started sleeping. It is not Fair that he expects me to get  good marks in a subject that I don't like."Nitin replied.
"Can you guess what might your father e doing right now?"
"I don't know!"said Nitin,"He must be sleeping after his heavy dinner."
"He's crying!!"
"For what?"
"He's crying over his own son who slammed the door on him! Was that fair? And for your notice he didn't eat! He was thinking about you that his lost his appetite! Why can't you see that ? Was that fair what he did to himself for what you have done ??"
"No, its my fault,I'm sorry."said Nitin.
"So now you know the right thing which you should have done and
the right thing you are going to do ??"
"Yes."replied Nitin.
"Then do the right thing!"said the voice as the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge disappeared from Nitin's    hands.

Nitin got up and went to his dad's room. He saw his dad sitting.
He ran to his dad and gave him a big hug.
He said,"I'm sorry."

From Nitin's experience, we can learn two things -
                                    1. Don't shut any doors, for doors are the gateways to new possibilities.
                                    2. Never forget that you have an all forgiving and all seeing Father above you.
